In this video, Chris shows how you can use delay to create a guitar part, in the style of U2 or Angels & Airwaves. A simple, yet effective way to add interest to any simple part, on any instrument. Just make sure that your playing is in time…

Chris and Jody take on the mighty world of the Delay. Giving a broad overview the history, types, and uses. Think of it as a gentle swim in the shallow end of the pool of getting to know how delay came about, where’s it at, and whetting your appetite for future deep dives into specific delay units in the future. It’s also not unlikely that there will be some nonsense discussed. ** The irony of it not posting at its original time is not lost on us. Imagine, an episode about delay that got delayed.
If you hang until the end you’ll find out the Goldstar word for the week, and also be privy to the Friday Finds of the week.
Shoutout: John Lennon, Pink Floyd, Oil Can Delay

In this Tuesday Tip Jody walks you thru recording Bass using a DI box and also going direct to your audio interface with a ¼” cable. Both methods of recording the bass get a similar sound and helps the mixing engineer when the levels are at a reasonable level for Re-Amping purposes.
Shoutout to: Radial Engineering for their Trim Two Stereo DI.

Chris and Jody tackle the concept of recording bass using Direct Input techniques. Generally reserved for electric bass, but can also be used for acoustic bass if it’s equipped with pickups. They talk about the different methods of DI that you can use. Plus the how’s and why’s of doing DI type recording. It’s also not unlikely that some nonsense will be discussed.
