Chris and Jody talk about the ins and outs of putting distortion to use in your mix. Various ways to achieve distortion, what it is good for. What instruments to use distortion on and some really good reasons as to why using distortion can improve a sound. Plus we give out our Friday Finds for this week. It is also not unlikely that there will be some nonsense discussed.

In this Tuesday Tip we take a look at the intro overview of a MainStage concert file. Particularly a concert file set up with patches recreating Bass Amp setups for cover songs. Showing the various parts of the window and also a slightly more advanced method of using a single input to drive multiple Bass Amps at once.

A quick tip showing how I combine the Roland V-Drums with Live Cymbals when artists want a different type of sound control on a live performance. Witness how I combine the audio of live overhead mics for cymbals and hi hats with the midi performance from the Roland V-Drum kit. Then export the audio from the midi capture to create the audio for the shells of the kit.
